La Locanda

Surrounded by the most beautiful scenery of the Chianti hills, in between vineyards, woods and olive groves, rises La Locanda, at 600 metres above sea level and three kilometres from Volpaia, the beautyful medieval village on a hilltop in front of Radda in Chianti.

La Locanda is a 16th century farm converted into a charming estate which has the relaxed atmosphere of a very comfortable country house which is incidentally also an hotel run by its owners with the help of a small staff.

Six double rooms together with a suite, each with its private bathroom, are to be found in the big country mansion while, nearby, there is the formal stable now housing the living room with large fireplace, the library with the bar and the dining room.

All the rooms are decorated with great care and although they have all modern devices, for each room has been searched for the right furniture, carefully chosen a colour and maintained the atmosphere of a private house.

Beside the swimming pool, with its breath-taking view, there is the large terrace, the ideal place for outdoor dining. So La Locanda is the perfect retreat after a walk through the woods, a visit to Chianti Classico cellar or a hard day sightseeing in the nearby cities of Florence, Siena, Arezzo or S.Gimignano.
