For many years Carlo Mascheroni, a passionate collector and seeker out of rose plants, has been adorning the rugged walls of Volpaia with climbing roses. Gradually over the years, Volpaia has literally become a vertical garden which bursts into bloom in May. May and June are a feast of colours and scents with a surprise awaiting you around every corner.
A pergola of varieties of old roses runs all around the walls of the villa’s garden and every angle is a perfect setting for a different picture.
